Installation and Removal of Gear Shift Cables

Please familiarize yourself with the following instructions before starting the installation of the gear shift cables on the vehicle.

  1. The installation of the gear shift cables must be carried out exclusively in the designated mounting points.
  2. Mandatory cable attachment when passing through areas with moving connections, such as the driveshaft.
  3. In areas with elevated temperatures, it is recommended to install reflective protective shields on the casing.
  4. Washing and additional lubrication of the cables are strictly prohibited.”

Sequence of Installation and Removal:

    1. Route the gear shift cable along the length of the vehicle as straight as possible, avoiding excessive bends.
    2. Attach the ball-type angle fittings of the cables to the master support (shift mechanism)..
    3. Secure the cables with clamps or brackets (depending on the type of mounting) in the cable mounting block on the shift mechanism.
    4. Attach the ball joints to the translator.
    5. Secure the gear shift cables in the mounting block on the bracket.

In case of removal, perform the operations in reverse order.

During installation, take care to avoid damaging the swing joint or tearing the protective boot.

Checking the Correct Installation of the Drive:

Ensure that, in the neutral position, the deviation of the cable rods from the installation axis does not exceed 1%. When routing the cables, follow the minimum bending radii. With the transmission in neutral, the gear lever should be vertical in the “V” section.

It is prohibited to install or operate cables with damaged housing, rubber seals, or worn protective boots.
